City College to be site of New York’s 4th Dominican Book Fair

Today Dr. Piña hosted in el CHU a literary and informative workshop in poetry. The book Mujeres de Palabra was introduced and sold for the first time. Some of the authors were present to read and autograph the book. Two historical Dominican guesses were interviewed by Dr. Piña; Elsa Nuñez and Angel Hache who spoke about the history of the theater in Santo Domingo and the need to develop the future of the arts in the DR. Mr. Hache spoke about how Casa de teatro was formed in 1974 and Ms. Nunez touched upon the development of her paintings and her love for butterflies. "The love for butterflies came from a poem her husband as boyfriend and girlfriend wrote for her (To capture a butterfly that flies getting the wind, air and time). She also mentioned how proud she is of the Dominicans abroad and how much they had grows as "literarios" since her last visit to US. One of the participants asked them: what is the secret for staying marry for so many years? Their replied as follow: "To respect each other space." He also spoke how a production for a show takes months to prepare and how in DR vs. here is only presented for few days. Kudos
